We are excited to announce the application period for the Spring 2019 Boston Design Academy is now available.
Boston Design Academy (BDA) is a city-sponsored program to expose Boston Public School students to potential careers in Boston’s growing design economy. BDA students will focus on product design and development while exploring STEAM–science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics–subject matter.
Design experts from a variety of professions work with BDA students to provide real-time feedback on their designs throughout the course of the program to provide participants a taste of what is entailed in a Boston’s Design Economy.
Participants will conclude their BDA experience with a Final Showcase for the general public alongside Boston’s leaders in Design and Innovation.
- Hands-On workshops exploring key Design Concepts and Principles for a Career in Boston’s Design Economy
- Field Trip to innovative local Startups and Companies
- Development of a Design Portfolio for Internships, Pre-College Programs, and more.

Teen Central (2nd Floor)
For 8th and 9th Grade students currently enrolled in a Boston Public School (BPS).
Accepted BDA participants will receive a weekly stipend based on satisfactory attendance and participation in the program.
